GPS Speed
Privacy Policy
Effective July 30, 2026
Overview
GPS Speed is a speedometer, trip computer, performance timer, and navigation companion. This policy explains what information the app processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.
Location and trip data
With your permission, the app processes precise location, speed, direction, altitude, and related sensor readings to provide its core features. Optional Bluetooth OBD or in-car sensor data may also be read on the device when you connect those sources. Saved trips, including full track points, and vehicle settings remain on your device. GPS Speed does not create a user account and does not upload trip routes to our servers.
A trip leaves your device only when you choose to export or share it (for example as GPX or CSV). The destination you select then controls the exported copy.
Analytics and diagnostics
If enabled, Firebase Analytics receives coarse feature-usage events, such as screens viewed, vehicle type, trip distance and duration metrics, top-speed summaries, performance-test results, and purchase outcomes. These events do not include precise coordinates or trip routes. Firebase Crashlytics may receive crash reports, stack traces, device and app information, and diagnostic context.
You can disable analytics and crash reporting in the app's privacy settings. Debug builds do not upload Crashlytics reports.
Advertising and purchases
The free version may use Google AdMob. Consent flows such as Google's User Messaging Platform and, on iOS, App Tracking Transparency may apply. Subject to your choices, Google may process advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, and ad interaction data to provide, personalize, and measure ads. If personalized advertising is not permitted, the app requests non-personalized ads. Settings also provides an advertising-choices entry where the platform requires it.
Purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Billing directly. These stores may process purchase receipts, product identifiers, and subscription status. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Network services
To show speed limits, nearby places, weather, elevation, map tiles, and remote configuration, the app may contact OpenStreetMap / Overpass, Open-Meteo, Firebase Remote Config, and related providers. Those requests can include approximate coordinates for the area being viewed, plus technical information such as your IP address. They do not send your full saved trip track. Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
Retention, security, and deletion
Local trips remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Third-party providers retain information according to their own policies. We use platform protections and encrypted HTTPS connections where supported, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
You can delete saved trips inside the app and clear all local app data through your device settings.

Children and policy changes
